Novotel The Hague City Centre with kids: a review!
On a weekday in the summer vacations, we visited family-friendly The Hague. We have visited the city several times and yet each time we do new fun activities with our daughter. Our blog The Hague with kids, is expanding all the time because of this and if you want to do all the activities in the city then you can easily spend a whole week in the city with your family! During this city trip to The Hague, we stayed overnight at the Novotel The Hague City Centre hotel and as a result of this overnight stay, we are writing this comprehensive review about the hotel.

So we drive toward the hotel on a Wednesday afternoon and park the car in the underground paid parking garage near the hotel. From this parking garage we are in a few moments in the lobby of the hotel. As far as we’re concerned, it’s ideal, since it saves us all the hassle of parking downtown.
In fact, the hotel’s location could not be better. The hotel is opposite the Binnenhof and from the hotel you can see the turret. So this really puts you right in the center and from the hotel you are right at the stores and restaurants. The hotel is also located in the Passage shopping center.
The lobby looks modern and cozy, and Sophie made her way right to the play corner, where she spent quite a while doing crafts. Here she also spent the next morning playing with other children. A sign that the hotel is very family-friendly that such a corner is present in the hotel. There is also a gym on the top floor of the hotel for parents who want to work up a sweat while staying at the hotel.
We booked an Executive room with a double bed and sofa bed at the hotel. This room is 28m2 in size and is suitable for families of four. The hotel has 5 spacious suites in addition to superior rooms and executive rooms. The suites are the largest rooms in the hotel. Sophie sleeps on the sofa bed and we have a double bed.
What immediately stands out (besides the fresh and modern look) is the huge flat-screen TV hanging on the wall. We ourselves have a fairly small TV at home, so this one does jump out at us and we enjoy the big picture. There is also a desk in the room, where Sophie did some more coloring and reading.
What makes Sophie very happy when we book a room in a hotel is if there is a bathtub in the bathroom. In this room, the bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub! Of course, our daughter then bathes extensively. As far as we are concerned, always a big plus of a room!
In addition, the room is equipped with all conveniences. For example, there is a fan, coffee and tea facilities and a functioning WIFI connection in the room. In short, a nice room to spend a night with the family!
Gallery61 Food & Drinks
Near the hotel is also the family-friendly restaurant Gallery61 and of course we went here for a bite to eat in the evening. The restaurant is next to the hotel and from the hotel you can walk right to the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and family-friendly. For example, they have a funny painting that can also be used as a chair. Of course, our daughter also found this very interesting and sat on it a few times that night!
The restaurant has a huge number of choices for kids and in that regard there is always something for the kids that they like. There are plenty of choices for parents, too! You can also order a variety of cocktails there. Our daughter was allowed to order a cocktail from us and was obviously very happy about it. We had a wonderful meal there and really recommend this restaurant! Even if you are not sleeping at the hotel with your family!
Food and drink in hotel
In addition to dining at Galley61 restaurant in the evening, we also took advantage of the hotel’s breakfast buffet in the morning. This was also very extensive and what immediately stood out was the children’s breakfast served on a separate table. Again, a sign that the hotel is very family-friendly!
Breakfast is very extensive and has very many choices! So you have different sandwiches, spreads, sweets, eggs, juices, yogurt with different cereals, coffee, tea, cakes and now we are forgetting a lot of things. Therefore, we had a really delicious breakfast in the morning and really liked the breakfast!
In that respect, we really enjoyed our stay at the Novotel The Hague City Centre. The hotel really has a super good location right in the center of the city and has fine and modern rooms for families. In addition, there is the very cozy and family-friendly restaurant Gallery61 next to the hotel and they serve an extensive and delicious breakfast in the morning! In short, highly recommended if you are taking a city trip to The Hague with kids. For more information about the hotel, the different rooms and room rates, take a look here.
