#1 Fun Forest Rotterdam

A fun activity to do with teenagers in Rotterdam is climbing at Fun Forest Rotterdam. You have a total of 9 different courses that differ in height and difficulty, so there are enough courses for teenagers and adults that have enough challenge.

Kids 12 years and older with a height of 150 cm are allowed to do all the courses in the climbing park. Keep in mind that you will be on the road for about half a day. You will receive instruction from a guide beforehand and then you may go climbing independently. We thought it was a really fun climbing park and also enjoyed climbing with our daughter. This makes it an activity you can really do together as parents with your teenagers in Rotterdam.

#2 Prison Island Rotterdam

Of course it is also fun to play an escaperoom in Rotterdam with teenagers. You have several locations in Rotterdam where you have escaperooms and we ourselves always enjoy trying to break out of the room with our daughter using different games.

You often have escape rooms with different themes and for different age groups, so there are always fun escaperooms for you teenagers too. Another kind of escaperoom that you can play with teenagers in Rotterdam is Prison Island. Here you do not have to escape from one room, but you have different rooms where you can play all kinds of games with the family.

You have a total of 34 different rooms (cells) here where you can play games and you can choose to go in for a total of 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours. You have to try to get as high a score as possible in the room and you often have to do that by working together. You may play each cell multiple times. You play this game in team of 3 to 5 people.

We have played Prison Island several times now in different cities in the Netherlands and always find it a super fun concept, where you are really very active. Some assignments are based on knowledge, but other assignments are physical and require agility. This is also a great activity when the weather is not so good and you still want to do something with teenagers in Rotterdam.

#3 Adventure City Rotterdam

Adventure City Rotterdam is another place where you can get active with teenagers in Rotterdam. Most of the activities you can do here are from a height of 130 cm, which makes it great for teenagers. You have both an indoor and outdoor area, so you can go here all year round.

Inside, you have activities you can do with adolescents such as climbing at a climbing wall, different climbing courses and Via Ferrata. Again, it is fun for parents to climb with the teenagers. Also outside you have different climbing courses, but here you also have different ziplines you can go down.

They also have a ladder bridge at Adventure City Rotterdam, which you can walk over at height and you can also make a free fall of 20 meters. After an instruction you will get 2 hours to go climbing with the kids. Also with this activity, count on about half a day of activity. #4 Outdoor Valley

At Outdoor Valley you can do all kinds of outdoor activities in Rotterdam with teenagers. This is especially an activity to do with teenagers in Rotterdam when the weather is sunny. You can go abseiling from a wall (minimum age 12 years), build rafts and bridges in the open air.

In addition, you can also take to the water here with a canoe and go for a spin or play a game of canoe polo against others. It is also possible to do paintballing, climbing, supping and survival. We spent a whole day here having fun with our daughter at Outdoor Valley. So as you can see there are plenty of activities you can do in Rotterdam with teenagers in terms of physical activities.

#5 Streetart Tour

Rotterdam is also known for its many street art and you have some really beautiful works of art in between. You can already spot them when you walk through the center of Rotterdam, but there are also 3 different routes that you can walk or bike yourself. We always enjoy spotting street art when we visit a city, and in Rotterdam we also viewed many beautiful works of art. Rent a bike and you can cycle through the city in a relaxed way. You also get to parts of the city where you are less likely to come as a tourist.

#6 Zero Latency VR Rotterdam

A fun activity to do in Rotterdam with adolescents is a VR experience. We have done this with our daughter in several cities in the Netherlands and must say that it is always a success. In Rotterdam you can do this at Zero Latency VR Rotterdam. We especially like to do a VR experience because you can do this together as a family.

First, you get an instruction and can get used to the VR glasses and the devices in your hand. Then you can choose one of the games and play a game together in a room with the rest of the family. It’s fun seeing each other in a completely different guise and having to work together to get to the solution of the game. This is also quite a physical activity!

Here you can choose different games, where you have to defeat all kinds of monsters, for example. There are also plenty of games for teenagers that are extremely suitable to play together with parents. Other activities in Rotterdam with adolescents

Of course there are several other fun activities you can do with teenagers in Rotterdam. For example, you can go to the zoo at Blijdorp Zoo. This is one of the biggest zoos in the Netherlands and you can easily spend a whole day here as a family with teenagers.

A visit to the Euromast is also cool. We have visited the Euromast several times now with our daughter and every time we are amazed at the fantastic view you have over Rotterdam from here. Rotterdam has a beautiful skyline and one of the best places to see the skyline is at the Euromast. You can also have lunch in this tower with teenagers with a very cool view.

Rotterdam is famous for its port and it is possible to book several boat tours through this port. This is of course an activity your teenagers should love, since you will be on a boat for quite a long time. But if you want to see what the port of Rotterdam is like, then this is definitely an activity you can do with your family.

Of course it is also fun to take a tour through the city center and visit the Markthal for example and have a bite to eat there. What will also appeal to teenagers is to grab a bite to eat in the center of Rotterdam at fast food restaurant FC Kip, which is known from Jandino Asporaat’s shows and movies. A visit to a cube house near the Market Hall is also interesting to check out.

If you teenagers love computer games, you can visit Gamestate Rotterdam as a family. Here you have no less than 60 different Arcade games that you can play. You have to think of all kinds of computer games like Candy Crush and Flappy Bird, but also some more physical games like air field hockey or a pinball machine.

Yet another totally different experience you can do in Rotterdam with teenagers is to visit Remastered near the famous Erasmus Bridge. Here you get an experience of one hour, where they create a very special atmosphere with images and sound. We really liked the one-hour experience and really enjoyed it. However, we found it a rather pricey activity in Rotterdam.
