Renzy GPS Tour with kids

Renzy GPS tour with kids: cool tour in Electric cars with the family!

We were searching online for fun outings in the Netherlands and read that in the town of Lisse in South Holland you could take the family on a cool GPS tour with electric 2-seater cars. That seemed like a really cool activity and so we booked the family package of the Dune & Beach Tour with the company Renzy. As a result of this GPS tour with our daughter, we are writing this review.

Renzy GPS tour with kids: scavenger hunt

When we arrive at Renzy in Lisse, we see the electric cars already parked outside the door. They are 2-seat Renault Twizy electric cars. In the car, you sit behind each other. Since there are three of us, we booked two cars. Beforehand, we are given an explanation of how the cars work, but it all turns out not to be very difficult.

Sophie krjjgt a scavenger hunt, where we have to find the pictures in the booklet. Having found these pictures, Sophie has to tick them in her booklet and at the end she has to count the different colors in the pictures. This forms a code, which can eventually be used to open the safe. So if she sees three pictures with a green dot, that is the digit three of the code. We are also given a walkie talkie so that we can communicate with each other during the route if we see any of the pictures in the booklet.

This addition of the photo scavenger hunt to the GPS tour, also makes it extra fun for kids to ride along in the cars. These cars reach speeds of 80 kilometers per hour, but generally you drive around 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Just be sure to dress your kids in layers, as it can be chilly while driving. In fact, the cars are open on the sides.

Renzy GPS tour with kids: the ride

We have a total of three hours (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) to ride the route. You can drive this route itself in just over an hour. This allows you to do it at your leisure and stop frequently along the way to have a drink or take a picture. On the navigation in the car, the route of the ride is already displayed, so you only need to follow the navigation.

The route you ride is mainly on small roads and along the beaches in the area of Noordwijk. The traffic on those roads is not too bad and that does drive pleasantly. We found it a very nice route through the area of Noordwijk. You regularly encounter entire fields of flowers. Unfortunately, we were there in August and not in spring when all the flowers in these fields are in full bloom. Still, we really enjoyed the beautiful route very much.

For example, during the route you will drive along the promenade of the beach of Noordwijk. Here we enjoyed stopping at one of the nice beach bars you can find here to have a drink along the way. Part of the route you also ride between the dunes toward the beach. Along the way, an audio system included in the car gives you information about the environment.

Big advantage during our ride was that the weather was fine, so we really enjoyed the tour in these electric cars. Sophie also really enjoyed the tour. Of course, she already really enjoyed communicating with daddy with the walkie talkie during the route and she was busy looking outside to see if she could find the pictures in her booklet.

Renzy GPS tour with kids: lunch tip

Another thing you pass during the route is playground Speelzandt on the beach in Noordwijk. We saw this fun playground including a beach tent during our drive along the beach and drove back by car after the tour to have lunch at the beach tent adjacent to this playground. Our daughter played wonderfully here, while at leisure had lunch and a drink.

Renzy GPS tour with kids: other tours

We drove the Dune & Beach route with the two electric cars, but there are other routes you can drive with the cars. So you can also ride the History and Castles route. You will pass several castles and luxurious country houses during this route. They also have a tour Hollands Landschap, which takes you past several windmills. What also strikes us as a wonderful route is the tour along the tulip and flower fields. This tour is only available from April 1 through May 8, as that is really the season of these flowers. There is also a Dune and Beach tour in Noordwijk.

Renzy GPS tour with kids: conclusion

We really enjoyed our three-hour ride through the Noordwijk area. It is super fun to drive the cars and the fun scavenger hunt makes it very fun for kids to drive the route as well. You’ll drive through beautiful scenery and have plenty of time to stop for a drink along the way. In our opinion, a very fun morning or afternoon activity if you are in South Holland with your kids!
