Tripsdrill with kids: general information
On a Wednesday morning we drove the car towards the amusement park and we parked the car (paid) practically in front of the door of the amusement park. This morning it is still nice and quiet and because of this we are inside the park from the car in a few minutes. We actually know pretty little about this amusement park, except that they have enough fun rides to keep us entertained for a whole day, and we orient ourselves first using the paper map we get at the entrance.
This map lists all the attractions that the park has including the age and height required for kids to enter the various attractions. Our daughter is 1.30 meters and we see that she is allowed in all the attractions of the park! The back of this card also has a map of the zoo and some more general information. We always find a map like this super handy for orientation.
You can easily order tickets for the park on the park ‘ s website. For kids ages four through 11, you get another certain discount on your ticket. Another thing you can look into is whether there are certain promotions for the park. Thus, subscription holders of the Efteling can visit this park once every year for free. Our daughter has a pass from the Efteling, so we did not have to pay for her.
Tripsdrill with kids: the park
The amusement park has more than a hundred different attractions and has also been named the best amusement park in Europe several times. We were lucky that it wasn’t crowded at all, so we didn’t actually have to wait long anywhere throughout the day. This allowed us to visit most of the attractions. We enjoyed ourselves for a whole day and didn’t even visit the animal section. We can imagine that when it is busier that you might need two days to fully explore the park.
You can visit several roller coasters at Tripsdrill amusement park with kids. We ourselves love roller coasters, so these are by default the first attractions we visit when we visit an amusement park. We first visit the two roller coasters Hals-über-Kopf and the Volldampf. There is a height restriction in both attractions, where you must be at least 1 meter tall at Voldampf and 1.20 meters tall at Hals-über-Kopf. Both attractions are spectacular and run into each other, which does give a very nice effect. So you fly one roller coaster over the station of another roller coaster.
After these two roller coasters located in the western part of the park, we walk around the park clockwise and visit different attractions such as the free fall tower, the tree trunks for kids, the electric cars, the hovermill, the teacups, the electric airplanes (where you can go over the top in a very spectacular way), the children’s roller coaster and several more such attractions.
What strikes us is that everything is beautifully landscaped with lots of greenery and also that we occasionally walk the wrong way toward the various attractions. Before we know it, we are well into the afternoon and still have several major attractions ahead of us. Indeed, to the east of the park are two more large roller coasters and two large water rides.
For example, you have a big wooden roller coaster, where you fly down the track very fast and also a very cool roller coaster (Karacho), where you go over the top several times. Also, the amusement park has a really fun tree trunk attraction (that you can get wet in) and also some kind of pyranha. Fortunately, the weather is warm and our clothes dry again quickly. Finally, there is a children’s roller coaster in this section, which our daughter goes in alone several times in a row.
A full day of all super fun attractions that will keep us busy for a whole day!
