Siam Park Tenerife with kids: all the information at a glance!

Should you go to Siam Park Tenerife with kids? We wondered that afterwards when we visited the water park. It is a beautifully landscaped water park and if you are on the island of Tenerife you can hardly ignore the advertising for the water park. The water park is hugely popular and therefore very crowded. We have included the water park anyway in our blog Tenerife with kids, in which we list all of the Spanish island’s activities. Siam Park Tenerife with kids: general information

Siam Park is Tenerife’s most famous water park and is located in the touristy south of the island. The water park is easily accessible from this tourist part and you can get there in no time by bus, cab or rental car. The water park itself also operates buses that pick up tourists for free from the island’s tourist spots and take them to the water park.

We visited the water park with our rental car and we were able to park our car for free at the water park in the large parking lot on the side of the water park. From here you can walk to the entrance of the water park in a few minutes. The park opened at ten and we got there around quarter to ten, but by then the park was already open.

There were also whole groups of tourists already at the door and we walked in in a very large crowd. Later we saw on the Internet that the park apparently opens every day as early as 9:30 a.m. and that the advice is to get there as early as about 8:15 p.m. so you can get in before the crowds.

Because of this, it was actually very crowded everywhere in the beginning (except at the slides ;)). Thus, we stood in line for a locker and there was also a whole line for renting gear and for the fastpass (more on this later). We had purchased the tickets to the park in advance online here. Tickets for the park are not very cheap and especially if you are with a whole family then it can be quite an amount.

Siam Park Tenerife with kids: Fastpass

At Siam Park, it is possible to buy a fastpass for the various slides. We knew this was common for the big theme parks, but at a water park we had never seen this before. It also kind of shows that it can be quite crowded and so sometimes you have to wait quite a long time.

Especially since you thus have a fastpass queue at the various slides and so these people all go for it. We got to use a fastpass at one slide, after our daughter was just too small at one particular slide and we were allowed in the fastpass line at another slide as compensation and it does save a lot of time. We were allowed to go down that particular slide three times in a row, and some tourists were still in the same line when we were already going down this slide for the third time.

So a fastpass does allow you to go on many more slides over an entire day. You can use this pass for the morning or afternoon and you are then allowed to slide down all eight slides once with the pass and with the joker an additional slide of your choice. A ticket including fastpass is quite pricey, so it is a trade-off whether you want to stand in line for a long time or not.

By the way, the first hour in the morning and the last hour of the day are much quieter in the slides and then we could walk right through at some slides, so in principle it should be perfectly possible to do all the slides once. You buy a fastpass at the gift store in the center of the water park.

The water park has several spectacular slides, but keep in mind that with most slides there is a length restriction. For example, half of the slides don’t allow you to go down until you are 1.25 meters, and our daughter just barely makes it. They were pretty strict about this, too, as she was measured at several slides.

From most of the slides you also have to get off with a belt and it depends on which slide you go from whether you have to bring the belt yourself or it goes up automatically via a treadmill. What we found a really fun attraction in the water park is the Lazy river. At this Lazy river, you take an entire trip through the park in a tire in a fast-flowing river and almost at the end of the course you can choose whether to go left or right.

If you choose left you go up with tire and all and come out on a higher stretch. You then go down the river with the current for a while and finally come out in a very cool multi-level slide and it ends in the aquarium with fish including sharks. You can go down this slide again and again if you keep making this circle in your band.

There is also plenty to do for kids. For example, at the back of the park there is a large beach, where every so often a mega-wave comes out of an installation in the water. Here it is also kind of relaxing to take a lounger at the beginning of the day. There is also a large pirate ship with several slides. Kids can also take a trail through the trees at Bodi Trail.

Just keep in mind that the park does get very cluttered and you have to keep a close eye on your kids. Also, water shoes are quite handy, as the surface sometimes hurts the feet quite a bit.

Siam Park Tenerife with kids: food and drink

In the water park, you can buy food and drinks at various places. There is a reasonable variety in the different tents, but most of the food is still pizza, fries, sandwiches and snacks. Do check where it is busy and where it is not. We waited in line for almost an hour to order food at a bar on Siam beach, while at the restaurant 50 meters away it was your turn in no time. Of course, it is also possible to bring your own food and drinks to the water park.

Siam Park Tenerife with kids: conclusion

We have mixed feelings about the water park. First of all, it really is a beautifully landscaped park and at times you really imagine yourself in the Far East. The greenery is present throughout the water park and in that respect, it is by far the most beautiful water park we have ever been to.

We did find the entrance fee pricey and found it very crowded and cluttered. Several times we had to stand in line for quite a long time, but you can overcome that with a fastpass. This does make your ticket almost 1.5 times more expensive. In addition, we had not looked carefully in advance at the required lengths at various slides so it turned out that half of the big slides did not allow our daughter to enter with us.

So check the water park’s website carefully beforehand to see what your kids are all allowed to enter and then weigh up whether you as a family think it’s worth it to visit this water park. The alternative is just around the corner and that is Aqualand Tenerife and apart from the fact that this water park is less beautiful, it is a lot cheaper, less crowded and more manageable.
