Are you looking for a fun destination for the whole family during spring break, for example? Visit the Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg with kids. Next to the better-known Legoland, you will find the cheerful and colorful world of Peppa, George, Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig, making it perfect for a two-day visit to both parks. The Peppa Pig Park, according to the site, is designed for kids between the ages of 2 and 8, but it is especially designed to give little ones a great day, with more than 10 attractions and meet & greets with the entire Pig family. In this blog we give you all the information about this family-friendly amusement park in Günzburg.
Best travel time Peppa Pig Park with kids
The Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg is open from early March through early November, with a closing Halloween party in the last week. Because it is located in southern Germany, May through September are the best months to visit the park with temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees.
At the same time, this immediately makes July and August the busiest months, and those crowds can be quite a challenge for small kids. Also, in high season tickets sell out quickly, so book your tickets and accommodation in advance. We were there during the Halloween party in October and it is definitely recommended. The decorations and special songs about Halloween make the visit extra special.
Transportation to and in Peppa Pig Park
Peppa Pig Park is located in Günzburg, in the state of Bavaria, Germany. From the Netherlands, the Peppa Pig Park is easiest to reach by car with kids. In about eight hours you drive from Amsterdam, via the A3 and A8, to Günzburg. About halfway along the route is the LOOP5 shopping center (Gutenbergstraße 5, 64331 Weiterstadt, Germany).
Here there is an indoor playground, some huge slides and even a zip line, making it a perfect stopover during the car ride. We booked a hotel near the park, but it is also possible to stay at one of the Legoland hotels and that often includes the parking fee. A single parking pass costs €10 per day and there is more than enough space around the park.
If you want to travel by public transportation, you can take the HSL to Munich and from there take the train to Günzburg. The nearest airport is Munich Airport, where you can also take the train. From downtown, it’s another half-hour walk to the park or a ten-minute cab ride. The Peppa Pig Park itself is small, uncluttered and safe.
There is no need for a stroller or baby carrier as the kids can walk, play and romp without any problems. The attractions and areas in the park are soft and rounded, preventing them from getting hurt.
Children’s activities Peppa Pig Park
#1 Daddy Pig’s Rollercoaster
Daddy Pig’s Rollercoaster is the park’s most popular attraction. For many young kids, this is probably one of the first roller coasters of their lives, and the designers of this roller coaster certainly didn’t lose sight of that. The attraction’s story is simple, but hugely relatable to little fans.
To get to the roller coaster, go through the familiar yellow house on the hill. The decor of the house exactly matches the house from the series and, of course, Daddy Pig did something awkward again in this story. As soon as you arrive in the kitchen, you suddenly notice that Daddy Pig accidentally left the car key in the washing machine.
Fortunately, Daddy Pig manages to start the car and you take a seat in the back of the Pig family’s red car. But then it suddenly appears that Mister Bull has opened up the road, so Daddy Pig swings around the holes in the road and past Mister Bull’s works. And that makes for about a two-minute ride full of gentle curves, little hills and, of course, to the accompaniment of Peppa Pig’s upbeat soundtrack.
The minimum height and age is 95 cm and three years accompanied by an adult. Kids over 1.20 meters are only allowed on the roller coaster, but during our visit, parents were only too happy to join us on this fun roller coaster.
#2 Muddy Puddles Splash Pad, Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour and Granddad Dog’s Sand Play
In addition to the fun attractions, Peppa Pig Park has many outdoor activities where kids can especially enjoy playing by themselves. In the middle of the park sits the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad. At this water playground, the youngest kids can slide, splash and splash, just like Peppa always does in the movies.
The two water slides, water jets, fountains and the other water toys are just exciting enough and provide plenty of cooling during the hot summer months. Right next to this water fest is a number of changing rooms especially for kids that are completely decorated in the famous style of Peppa Pig.
Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour is popular with young visitors all season long. On a special course, with a safety zone in the middle, kids learn to ride tricycles or try to find balance on balance bikes. The bikes have different colors and sizes, so there is the right bike for everyone.
Next to this bike track is Granddad Dog’s Sand Play, a sand play area, all themed, where little pirates can build, dig and play. Around this themed area are several benches and beach chairs, so adults can sit in the sun while the kids play.
In the back part of the park there is a separate Lego Duplo zone, where you will be welcomed by a life-size Peppa Pig and Suzy Sheep. A sort of piste has been created, with green hedges, where the kids can have fun with skippy balls, but of course the real favorite of this area were the big bins of Peppa Pig Duplo with which to build an entire village, including Miss Rabbit’s supermarket.
#3 Mister Bull’s High Striker
If you’re visiting the Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg with older kids, Mister Bull’s High Striker is the attraction you don’t want to skip. As with the park’s other attractions, the story of this High Striker is immediately clear. Mister Bull is obviously the strongest character in the series and wants to show how strong he really is with this special power meter.
Once you are seated in one of the seats and the seat belts are fastened, Mister Bull’s stroke determines how high you will fly in the air. It is a bit reminiscent of a violent carnival ride, but in a fun and exciting way that is appropriate for the age and height of little visitors.
The minimum height for Mister Bull’s High Striker is one meter and, as with Daddy Pig’s Rollercoaster, the minimum age is three years accompanied by an adult. Kids from 120 centimeters and up may enter this attraction unaccompanied.
#4 Meet & Greet with Peppa, George and Mommy Pig
Once you visit the Peppa Pig Park with kids, you can be sure that you will at least once stand in line to meet, hug and photograph the characters from the series. Fortunately, at this park they think along with parents and Peppa, George and Mommy Pig alternate in the special Peppa Pig theater.
Although there are sometimes long lines, they make sure that all little friends have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the whole Pig family. The time slots of these encounters are also marked in various places in the park, so you know at what times to expect Peppa, George and Mommy Pig. In addition to these meet & greets, there is a show by Peppa Pig and Charly three times a day.
In it they sing the familiar songs, play the stop dance and joke with the kids. The whole show is in German, of course, but that didn’t matter to our daughter. She had the time of her life and sang along nicely to everything!
The cinema, which offers non-stop Peppa Pig viewing all day, also hosts a mini-disco three times a day. Accompanied by two cheerful girls, young visitors dance along to Peppa Pig’s familiar hits. And again, the theme and story is immediately clear. The dance floor is from the episode in which Peppa and her friends have a party at Miss Rabbit’s roller disco.
#5 Peppa’s Balloon Ride, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure and Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride
Fortunately, it’s not all action and adrenaline for Peppa Pig fans. Thus, Peppa’s Balloon Ride, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure and Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride are the quieter attractions of the Peppa Pig Park and perfect for the youngest members of the family.
There is no minimum height or age requirement for Peppa’s Balloon Ride and Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride, and there is room for the whole family in the trays and boats. Both rides take about three minutes and go at a slower pace than the other attractions. Of course, both attractions have thought about the story and decor, keeping it fun for fans of all ages.
For example, in Peppa’s Balloon Ride, you board Miss Rabbit’s balloon with Peppa and George to enjoy the view. At Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride, you are the skipper aboard your own pirate ship and sail past the pirate treasures of Danny Dog’s grandfather.
At Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure, the little adventurer climbs on the neck of Georges Dinosaur and rides through the prehistoric landscape with other dinosaurs, palm trees and, of course, a smoking volcano. This attraction is suitable, under supervision, for kids as tall as 86 centimeters.
For adults, there is a separate seat on the dino’s back. Kids from 120 centimeters and up may enter this attraction unaccompanied.
Family-friendly restaurant Peppa Pig Park
You can also eat fine food at Peppa Pig Park with kids, but there is not a lot of choice. The only restaurant in the park is the dining, where fortunately you do have many options. So you can choose pizza, pretzels, käsespätzle, muffins and ice cream, but the healthier salads, sandwiches and, of course, watermelon are also on the menu. The prices in the restaurant are reasonable and so is the quality of the food.
In the park you are allowed to bring your own food and eat it on one of the many benches in the park. Therefore, you can also choose to visit one of the bakeries, supermarkets or local stores in downtown Günzburg and get some nice fresh food and drinks there before visiting the park.
The Peppa Pig Park in Günzburg closes as early as 5 p.m., so for dinner you have to rely on a restaurant in downtown Günzburg. Our favorite was the restaurant SOUL FOOD Schwäbisch & Grill Bar & Wein Forum am Hofgarten, and in this we were not alone. This popular restaurant has adapted its menu to target the Peppa Pig Park and Legoland audience.
In fact, all the classic and popular German dishes on the menu, such as the schnitzel, are also available as children’s portions.
