Novotel Leuven Center with kids: a review!
This past weekend we visited the city of Leuven with our six-year-old daughter and stayed overnight at hotel Novotel Leuven Centrum. A few weeks earlier we were in the city of Mechelen and also slept in a Novotel hotel and it was extremely good. Hence, we were happy to repeat in Leuven! We already wrote the blog Leuven with kids following our visit to the city of Leuven, and following our overnight stay at hotel Novotel Leuven Centrum we are writing this comprehensive review.
The hotel
We drive towards Leuven on Saturday afternoon and we park the car in the hotel’s (paid) parking garage. From this parking garage we were in the lobby of the hotel with our suitcases in a few minutes. In terms of decor, the Novotel hotel Leuven bears similarities to the Novotel hotel in Mechelen.
The hotel also has a fresh modern look, and again a play area has been created for kids near the reception desk. On that note, this is also in an ideal place for parents, as the play corner is made next to the restaurant’s bar, making it easy for parents to have a drink while the kids are playing.
As its name suggests, the hotel is located in the center of Leuven, and from the hotel you can be in the city’s shopping district after a few minutes’ walk. The hotel also has a gym and a spa, only we did not use these ourselves. So you can if you want work yourself into a sweat as a parent during your stay at the hotel ;).
The room
We had booked a superior room with a double bed and 2 single sofa beds. This room is about 24m2 in size and can accommodate four people. Sophie’s bed was next to ours, but as you can also see from the photos, there was plenty of room in the room. In addition, the room had a modern bathroom with shower. There was also a desk in the room, where Sophie spent some time coloring in her coloring book.
Also, the room had a beautiful view of the city. The window in the room could also be opened all the way which we always like in the morning, so you can open the window wide for some fresh air. In addition, the room had all the facilities you need in a room.
For example, the room had a flat-screen TV with several Dutch channels as well, a safe, air conditioning, a refrigerator, well-functioning WIFI, a coffee maker and a kettle. In short, everything you need in a room to relax after a day of walking through a city with your family.
Food and drink in hotel
The hotel has a catering facility in the building (Gourmet Bar) where you can have lunch and dinner during the day and in the evening. The restaurant serves both local and international dishes. Of course, for kids, they also have a kids’ menu here. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to eat at this bar and you can also just have a drink with your kids at the bar. Since the hotel is in the center of town, you also have dozens of other restaurants and cafes within walking distance for a bite to eat and a drink.
In the morning, the hotel also serves breakfast. We also took advantage of this. This breakfast was surprisingly comprehensive. Different breads, spreads, a fresh egg, different juices, croissants, yogurts, fresh fruit and much more. In that respect, you really don’t lack anything at breakfast and we left the hotel with a well-filled stomach.
Conclusion
We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Leuven Centrum! Just like last time at the hotel in Mechelen, this hotel is in a good location, has a modern look, nice rooms and also a delicious full breakfast. Plus, you don’t have to leave the hotel door to eat and drink with the hotel’s Gourmet Bar. As far as we are concerned, the hotel is highly recommended if you are taking a city trip to Leuven with the family!
