KidZcity Utrecht: cool indoor playground in Utrecht!
Last weekend we visited KidZcity in Utrecht during a city trip to this family-friendly city. We have already made several city trips to Utrecht and already wrote about this city in the blog Utrecht with kids, in which we listed all the children’s activities in this city. KidZcity Utrecht has been on our list for a long time and as a result of our visit to this indoor playground in Utrecht, we write this review and provide all the information you need to visit KidZcity Utrecht.
Table of contents
We drive from Tilburg to Utrecht on a Friday morning during the vacations and arrive at KidZcity after this indoor playground has just opened. We parked the car for free in front in a parking lot and were at the entrance in a few minutes. We made a reservation in advance through the website, as this is mandatory and thus we were also sure we could go in.
You pay the same entrance fee for both kids and adults at KidZcity Utrecht, and children up to two years old are free. KidZcity is suitable for kids up to age 11 and, as with most indoor playgrounds, socks are required. So even on hot days, make sure you bring these with you!
Otherwise, there are plenty of facilities for parents. You can sit there just fine, there is free WIFI, you can heat a bottle in the microwave, there are high chairs for young kids and on screens it is possible to watch soccer via the ESPN channel.
What is there to do?
After we enter KidZcity Utrecht, the first thing we do is walk around to see what there is to do. KidZcity does differ from most indoor playgrounds and does have very different playground equipment. For example, there is a whole play castle where you can play and where there is also a very steep slide that the kids can go down.
There are also some mega-slides that kids can go down, and for kids up to four years old, there is also a separate play area. In addition, you have several attractions in the hall such as the bumper cars, a carousel and a balloon ride.
You can also take the kids laser gaming there. We also did this and our daughter really enjoyed doing it. You have to make sure to hit yourself as little as possible and to hit the other players in the room as often as possible.
There is also an occasional safari train running around on a track for the kids to ride on. They also have a children’s theater, but when we were there there were no performances or anything like that here.
Food and drink
You can also get some great food and drinks at KidZcity Utrecht. You can order food and drinks here at the restaurant and you can mainly choose from fries with a snack, various sandwiches or a sandwich. It is also possible to buy ice cream or candy for the kids. We ourselves only had a drink here and our daughter had a waffle, but did not have lunch here.
We had a great morning at KidZcity Utrecht. Our daughter always finds these kinds of indoor playgrounds super fun and could have stayed much longer. Unfortunately, we had other plans for the afternoon. Therefore, we can quite imagine that you can have a whole day here with the family. For more information on opening hours, admission prices and the various attractions, take a look at KidZcity Utrecht‘s website.
