A city trip to Den Bosch is super fun and we have visited this family-friendly city several times. We also wrote about the city of Den Bosch in the blog Den Bosch with kids, where we listed all the fun activities of the city. During one of our city trips to this city, we also stayed overnight at Boutique hotel de Blauwe Pauw in Den Bosch. As a result of this overnight stay, we are writing this comprehensive review of this hotel.
Table of contents
Hotel de Blauwe Pauw is located on the edge of the center of Den Bosch and you can walk from the hotel to the center of Den Bosch in just over five minutes! The hotel does not have its own parking, but it is easily accessible by car and public transportation. If you come to Den Bosch by train, it is about a fifteen-minute walk to the hotel.
If you come by car, the closest parking garage is the St. John’s parking garage. This is also where we ourselves parked the car. From this parking lot it is about a six-minute walk if you take the pedestrian exit Hekellaan. A cheaper parking option is if you park your car at P&R De Vliert. Then you pay only a few euros per day and the bus is included in this price for four people.
So we parked the car in St. John’s parking garage and were thus in a few minutes at the door of the hotel, where we were warmly welcomed by the hotel’s friendly owner. The Boutique hotel has a common room on the first floor and also a spacious garden. Especially with families with kids, this is a great place to play family games.
Hotel de Blauwe Pauw is small-scale and in total the hotel has six different rooms, including a room suitable for a family with two kids. We ourselves had a triple room called “The Peacock Eye. This room was on the second floor and this room was very spacious. The room had an area of about 40m2.
We had a double bed in this room and for Sophie there was an extra bed in the room. This room had a large bathroom with spacious shower. In addition, the room had all the comforts such as a large desk, a flat-screen TV, an electric kettle, a coffee maker and well-functioning WIFI.
Food and drink in hotel
The hotel provides breakfast in the morning and it was very extensive and delicious. The hotel has a full breakfast with different breads, spreads, types of fruit, yogurt and cereals. In addition, there was coffee, tea and juice and you could also have an egg fried. We had a delicious breakfast here in the morning and this was a good start to our day.
For lunch and dinner, there are dozens of different restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, where you can get something to eat and drink. We had a wonderful evening dinner at the Italian restaurant Brigantino (owner’s tip) which is a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.
We enjoyed our overnight stay at hotel de Blauwe Pauw in Den Bosch. The hotel has a central location, putting you in the city center in a few minutes from the hotel. Located in a beautiful landmark building, the hotel has several beautiful rooms. Our room accommodated three people and was very spacious and fully equipped. In addition, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the hotel in the morning. For more information about the hotel, check out the website of the Blue Peacock in Den Bosch.
