Fletcher Hotel Amersfoort: great nights in the middle of the country
In the middle of the Netherlands you have several nice museums that we wanted to visit. Since driving back home took a lot of travel time, we decided to make a weekend of it with an overnight stay at the Fletcher hotel in Amersfoort. Delicious dining, sleeping, playing and breakfast made for a perfect family weekend. Below you can read our report on our overnight stay at this fine hotel.
Table of contents
Located in Amersfoort, the hotel is a few minutes’ drive from famous attractions in the Amersfoort area, such as the Amersfoort Zoo and the National Military Museum. So ideal for families like us coming from further afield.
Big advantage at this hotel is that you can park your car for free in the spacious parking lot. In addition, it is nice that there is a restaurant at the hotel, so you don’t have to go out at night with your kids to get something to eat.
Furthermore, we always like it when a hotel pays attention to the customer. Examples include a small welcome card in the room with our name on it and a chat with the manager in the restaurant to see if everything was to our liking. Surely these are the little things that make you feel extremely welcome as a guest.
In the vicinity of the hotel there is plenty to do. For example, we found information in the room about various walking and biking routes in the area. The beautiful Stuivend Zand nature reserve, for example, is a few minutes’ drive from the hotel. Bicycles and e-bikes can be rented at the hotel. We had booked a comfort double room and a bed was added for our daughter. For us, this was a great option to spend a night. The room was about 20m2 in size. It is possible to book larger rooms at the hotel. Similarly, you have a Junior Suite with whirlpool tub that is 30m2 in size. You can also book a family room at the hotel. So plenty of choice for families with kids.
Food and drink at the hotel
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Both pleased us very much. For example, the restaurant looks very attractive and they have plenty of different options on the menu, so there is something for everyone. For kids, they have a special kids’ menu, where they can eat fries, pancakes or spaghetti.
Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and was well taken care of. Everything was there to start the day off right. So all in all, you really don’t have to leave the hotel to have a good meal. You can even have food brought to your room.
The play corner
What we really liked about the hotel was that downstairs at the reception there is a play corner for kids. Here kids can color, play with a train track, do puzzles and much more. Our five-year-old daughter had a great time here in the afternoons and mornings. Little things like this make it a really great option for families with kids to book this hotel!
We really enjoyed our weekend getaway with the family and our overnight stay at this hotel. Nice food, play, relax and sleep, made sure we could start our day on Sunday fresh and fruity.
