Slagharen amusement park with kids: general information

Thus, early one Sunday morning we drive from Tilburg to the east of the country. From Tilburg, we drive to this amusement park in just over two hours and we arrive when the park opens its doors at 10 o’clock. We park the car paid in the amusement park parking lot and within minutes we are in front of the park entrance.

We obtained tickets through a ticket auction website, eliminating the need to stand in line for a ticket. For the amusement park, there are regular promotions (including on various auction websites), allowing you to buy tickets cheaply. In the end, the three of us paid about forty euros for this amusement park. As far as we are concerned, an excellent deal for an amusement park. So check carefully beforehand to see if you can get a discount somewhere. Usually there is something of a deal. Of course, it is also possible to buy tickets through the amusement park’ s own website.

Slagharen amusement park with kids: the park

In total, the amusement park has 34 different attractions for young and older kids, with an emphasis on the slightly younger kids. The amusement park has just too few fun rides for adolescents to really make it a suitable park for this audience. Our daughter is seven and for her age, the amusement park is ideal. In most of the attractions, our daughter is allowed in.

The park has a total of eight attractions of intense intensity. These are mostly roller coasters and rides that you know from the carnival and in which you can get quite nauseated. Also, the park has five attractions of moderate intensity and the other twenty-one attractions are mild in intensity. The latter category includes many of the attractions for young kids such as the electric cars, electric horses, teacups, little train and Ferris wheel.

What immediately stands out in the park is the chairlift, which allows you to take a tour of the entire park and gives you an immediate overview of what’s going on in the amusement park. We did this as one of the first things when we arrived in the park. Once we were in this, our daughter saw her favorite family from Youtube (the Bellinga family) filming in the park and didn’t know how fast she had to get out of the chairlift to have her picture taken with the family. Her day could not go wrong right away.

We were there as previously reported in the summer vacations and we found the crowds at the attractions not too bad. We spent a whole day in the park and were able to visit most of the attractions. Of course, there were some attractions that our daughter was not allowed to go in, so we did not visit them.

You can also go to various shows during the day. These take place both indoors and outdoors and are given at different times several times a day. We went to the show with Randy and Rosie and we really liked this show with magic acts. This show lasted about 25 minutes.

For various attractions, you need a certain minimum length. On the theme park’s website you have a length chart with all the attractions linked to it and so you can very easily see where all your kids are allowed in and where not. You can find this length chart here. Here you can also see the different attractions that the park all has.

Slagharen amusement park with kids: the water park

You can also go to a water park in Slagharen amusement park with kids. Aqua Mexicana has both an indoor and outdoor pool and has a total of ten different slides. In addition, the water park has two large water playgrounds and a large hot tub for dozens of people. You need to buy a separate ticket for this water park and this can only be done in combination with a ticket for the amusement park.

So you cannot visit the water park separately. By the way, if you stay in Slagharen’s cottages, the water park is included in your stay. Especially if you go here for a weekend, it’s fun to visit the water park as well. If you only go to Slagharen amusement park with kids for one day, you do need a whole day for the various attractions in the amusement park.

Also, the water park is really geared toward families with young kids. Adolescents will quickly get bored in this water park as well. Of course, in the summer it can be nice to just lie outside on the sunbeds nice and sunny and occasionally cool off from the water of the pool.

In addition to this climbing park with three different levels, there is also an eight-meter-high climbing wall that kids can climb up. You do have to pay extra for this.

There is also a 115-meter-long rollglider, where kids sit in a kind of harness and slide down in about 30 seconds. Also this attraction kids are only allowed to do if you pay extra. The minimum height for this attraction is 120 cm and a minimum weight of 35 kg.

Slagharen amusement park with kids: food and drinks

Of course, even in this amusement park you have plenty of choice in terms of restaurants and eateries. There are also several fast food chains in the park and we ourselves ate a sandwich at noon at Subway restaurant. There was a very long line here and we had to wait quite a long time. Meanwhile, our daughter continued to go on various attractions with always one of us. Of course, it could be because there are staff shortages in the Netherlands, but we found it took a very long time here. In all, we stood in line for almost an hour.
